Jul six, 2011
I take a D7000 on social club and I wondered if anyone has had trouble connecting information technology to iPhoto on a Mac. OR practise we demand to utilize Nikon software?

Information technology's not a trouble, simply in general I would recommend placing the sdhc card into a bill of fare reader for transferring images. It tends to exist faster and you don't drain the battery.

My MacBook Air allows me to plug in the SD carte direct into the laptop. Much better than using the string to connect the camera body.

I use a USB cablevision and Image Capture.app to transfer, without problems. I assume iPhoto uses the same underlying APIs, so I tin can't think why it wouldn't work as well.

I have a 2009 iMac 24" and have no bug downloading images from my D7000 via an SDHC card reader. I utilise Nikon Transfer/Nikon ViewNX2 west/ no problems. You should accept no bug though, using iPhoto, if that's your preference.

Whether y'all take a built-in sdhc slot, use a card reader, or adhere a cable, iPhoto volition piece of work seamlessly with your camera. Once your files are fastened, you can have iPhoto set one of ii ways: 1, you can gear up it up to automatically open and download your images as soon as they are continued; ii, you can have the downloading occur only after yous open iPhoto. When I merely used iPhoto, I used the first selection. At present that I oftentimes use Elements, I employ the 2nd choice. It is very easy to just click on iPhoto and let the images appear. At this point, you accept a few more options. You can select only some of the shots to exist imported or select all. Plus, a neat selection I like, is to hide images already on the site (images on the menu yous have previously imported) then you are only looking at and importing new images. Good luck!

You can download the pictures from your menu directly to photoshop, I believe. At least Elements 9 has an organizer that manages the images for me. When I want to transfer images from iPhoto to Elements, there is no direct passage that I accept found. Instead, I consign the image or anthology to my desktop. In Elements I can import these pics directly from the desktop. Ii steps. Only be careful that you choose the right file type when you lot are exporting. You can export the original, whether RAW or jpeg, or downsized versions. Your choice. Hope this helps.
